Take in the beautiful sites around Sligo. Enjoy a day trip to Coney Island with the whole family where they can wander around the island, take the scenic walk past the lighthouse, or picnic on the front of the island. If you are looking for a walk with a view, try Knocknashee which is a hilltop fort also known as ‘Hill of the Fairies’. Carrowkeel is a neolithic hilltop passage tomb complex consisting of 14 passage cairns and both provide its climbers with spectacular views of County Sligo.

Immerse yourself in Traditional Irish culture and visit The Coleman Centre in Gurteen, Co. Sligo, which is only 10 minutes from us. The Coleman Centre is a celebration of Irish Music, Culture and Heritage and is dedicated to ensuring that the tradition of Irish music remains a living one enjoyed by all ages and nationalities. Sligo Folk Park is also located nearby in Riverstown, Co. Sligo. This attraction provides a true experience of rural life and Irish heritage at the turn of the late 19th Century. Explore the park and visit the museum and exhibition hall which houses one of Ireland’s finest collections of rural history and agricultural artefacts.

For those looking to relax, try a luxurious, organic seaweed bath located in Enniscrone or Strandhill. Take a stroll around the shores of Lough Talt or Lough Easkey and enjoy the peaceful surroundings. If you’re looking for a day of fishing, Sligo has been described as an angler’s paradise, which facilitates trout, pike, perch and salmon fishing in the lakes and rivers dotted around the county. For the adventure seekers there is plenty of water sports and adventure facilities in Sligo ranging from Canoeing, Kayaking, Abseiling, Rock Climbing, Mountain Biking all within 20-45 minutes of your accommodation in Tubbercurry.
