March 2018 : Western Drama Festival
The Three Act Festival returns to Tubbercurry March 2018, with 9 nightly shows from the 2nd to the 10th. Tubbercurry’s festival is one of the best in Ireland and always has the most talented drama groups in the country participating in it.
The adjudicator for this year is Mr Michael O’Hara who has filled this role numerous times in the drama circuit for at least 25 years. He has taught drama and theatre at the highest levels in schools, colleges and universities in Coleraine, Belfast, Limerick and in Northern Nigeria for more than 40 years. During his extensive career, he was also involved in the training of teachers of English, drama and theatre. This will be Michael’s second visit to the Western Drama Festival, Tubbercurry having previously adjudicated the three-act festival in 1997.

May 2018 : My Old Hometown Gurteen Festival
This May Bank Holiday weekend Gurteen will host a new country music festival – My Old Hometown Gurteen. The line up includes the very best of local, country music talent.

July 2018 : South Sligo Summer School
South Sligo Summer School is a week-long festival which celebrates Traditional music, song and dance. The festival is held in Tubbercurry and attracts musicians, singers and dancers from all over the world and from every corner in Ireland. This year the festival takes place from July 15th to 21st.
Visitors can enjoy listening to the very best of traditional music over the duration of the festival while also exploring the locality in between sessions and classes. Our location provides you with an ideal base to explore County Sligo, the North West of Ireland and The Wild Atlantic Way. August 2018 : Old Fair Day Tubbercurry
This year’s Old Fair Day takes place from Saturday 4th August to Wednesday 8th August. The festival is now in it’s 33rd year and has events and activities suitable for all the family. The 5-day event leads up to the Old Fair Day on Wednesday which allows people to experience fair days gone by with the arts, crafts and heritage village, artisan food and bread displays. The kids will have plenty to do with the Teddy Bear’s Picnic, the Family Fun Day, a treasure hunt, bouncy castles and much more. We are delighted to continue our sponsorship of the Tubbercurry Old Fair Day Festival for 2018.
November 2018: Brown Bread & Jam Club
The Annual Brown Bread and Jam Club will take place on Saturday 10th November 2018 from 8pm at Cawley’s in Tubbercurry. Enjoy a free evening of entertainment with storytelling, verse, music and of course brown bread & jam. Musicians, Storytellers and Singers will gather from all over Ireland to take part in an evening full of stories and recitations. Homemade brown bread & jam will be served along with mugs of tea after which you will be entertained throughout the evening with a few humorous songs and tunes. 2017 Festivals in Tubbercurry
March: Western Drama Festival
Tubbercurry Western Drama Festival has the honour of hosting the 2017 Confined All Ireland Drama Festival Finals. The Committee members are busy making plans for the Festival so it is a special event to remember. The Three Act Festival will not run this year in March. However we will be looking to the Amateur Drama Council website to observe how all the groups in the confined section are getting on as they perform in the festivals all around Ireland. We look forward to hosting the nine groups who are the ultimate finalists! The event will run in St Brigids Hall from the 21 to 29 April 2017.
May 2017: South Sligo Walking Festival
The spring South Sligo Walking Festival is set in the beautiful Ox Mountains, Lough Talt and Lough Easkey area. It is one of the main walking events of the year in the North West, attracting hill walkers from all levels both near and far.
July 2017: South Sligo Summer School
Enjoy the celebration of Irish traditional music and dance in Tubbercurry this July. Learn to play a traditional Irish musical instrument or take a master class. Finish every evening on the dance floor practising the new dances learned at your daily dance class. Enjoy the many sessions, concerts, recitals and lectures held nightly.

Meet Old Friends and make new ones at one of the longest established Old Fair Days in Ireland. Events during the five day festival include street entertainment; open air bands, Bungee, climbing wall, RSA Roadshow, fireworks, Pig Racing, family fun day, mobile cinema,and lots more. Come along and see our recreation of the traditional Fair Day with crafts, Local Artisan foods, animals, vintage and heritage displays to mention just a few.

July 2017: Sligo Jazz Festival
Sligo Jazz Project (SJP) is a volunteer-run organization which brings world class music and music education to Sligo, Ireland. SJP’s flagship event each summer is one of the most important jazz education events in Europe. SJP also runs smaller local, national and international events throughout the year and promotes local jazz and world music acts.
August 2017: Yeats International Summer School & Sligo Festival of Arts
Sligo Festival of the Arts runs in conjunction with the Yeats International Summer School. The Festival is two weeks of entertainment, incorporating an exciting line-up of literature, music, drama and film.
August 2017: Warriors Festival
The Warriors run is a grueling 10 mile road and hill race from the beach front at Strandhill to the top of Knocknarea mountain and back again. The run attracts competitors from around the world and spectators can enjoy live music and street entertainment. A fun walk and junior warriors races also take place on the day.
